Seven steps to a painting career
A clear, supported process designed for adults who are ready to work and willing to show up.
The Pathway
From application to employment
Each step has staff support attached to it—you are never left to figure it out alone.
Step 1: Apply
Submit a short application telling us about your goals, availability, and interest in the trade. No prior painting experience is required.
Step 2: Interview
Meet with program staff to review expectations, attendance requirements, transportation, and readiness to commit to nine weeks.
Step 3: Enroll
Complete enrollment paperwork, safety orientation, and tool and PPE onboarding before your cohort begins.
Step 4: Complete Training
Attend the full nine-week curriculum: safety, surface and drywall preparation, brush, roller and spray technique, interior, exterior, and commercial work.
Step 5: Graduate
Earn your Certificate of Completion, official transcript, and career readiness evaluation at the cohort graduation ceremony.
Step 6: Home Improvement License Assistance
Receive guidance on home improvement licensing requirements and application support, subject to funding and eligibility.
Step 7: Employment Placement Assistance
Get referrals to partner employers and affiliated companies, plus continued coaching through your first days on the job.
